Vollmer Farm

On Thursday I went with Adele and her class to Vollmer Farm.  We had a great time.  The weather was cool and crisp just as a day at the pumpkin farm should be.  We made butter, learned all about cows, played in a corn sandbox, jumped on a HUGE "pumpkin pillow", figured out a corn maze and much, much more.

I hope you enjoy our pictures.  If you haven't ever been to Vollmer Farm you should check it out!

Interesting

Today I was looking through the pictures on my camera to see if there was anything I wanted to blog about.  I was looking at pictures of the pumpkin farm, my parents new puppy and etc. when I came across some pictures that Adele had obviously taken.  Hmm, I thought.  I wonder when she took these?  Then I saw the pictures of Jason and my question was answered.

Before I show you the pics let me give a little background. There have been several times that I have come home after being gone all day and asked Jason what Adele had for lunch. "Oops" he would say,  "I knew I forgot something."  (No people I am not joking!)  Then on other days I would leave and remind him to feed her lunch and Adele would say, "Oh no, not oodles of noodles again."  However, I did think that during these times he was at least watching her, now I have to wonder...

I guess at this point I must say that this is all said in fun (yet honesty) and that Jason really is a great dad.  Maybe not the most attentive (haha) but great.  Adele adores him and he her. But still...

There is one more thing you need to know.. YES he is available for baby sitting!

Adele Doll

Adele had to make this doll for a school project because they were learning about "God made me".  Her teacher traced out Adele's body onto the brown paper and then sent it home for us to "creatively" decorate it to fit Adele's personality.  There were a few stipulations though... on the right arm she had to write her first name, on the left her her last name, on the right leg she had to put pictures of activities she enjoys, on the left leg she had to write the names of her friends (sorry if you don't see your name up there... there was only so much room but she does love you), on the chest she had to put pictures of the people she loves (again only so much room) and finally (and I do mean FINALLY!!!) on the stomach she had to put pictures of the food she likes to eat.

We did have a great time working on this.  She insisted on a few things for her "Adele doll". She wanted her to have on tap shoes, a ring and a necklace.  And my favorite is that she insisted on "drawing" the nose herself (take a good look).

The teachers put them up outside the classroom for all to see and I REALLY wish I had taken pictures of all of them... they were all so cute.  What a fun project!  And let me also take this opportunity to say that I am grateful for a school and a teacher that surround my child each day with the love and example of Christ.

(if you click on the picture you can see them larger)

For you formed my inward parts;  you knitted me together in my mother's womb.  I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Wonderful are your works;  my soul knows it very well.  My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.  Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in you book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them.
